While the official unemployment rate hovers at 9 percent—which doesn’t include workers who are working part-time or have dropped out of the job market entirely—other workers are being squeezed to work harder, longer and faster. It’s no wonder corporate profits are up 22 percent while workers and their families continue to struggle.
